How often does my horse need to be vaccinated against influenza?

For KNHS and FEI competitions, an annual booster vaccination is required. The base series consists of 3 vaccinations (for horses born on or after 1 Jan 2022 or with a base series started after 1 Apr 2024). The 2nd vaccination must be given 21–92 days after the 1st, and the 3rd vaccination 150–215 days after the 2nd.

The KNHS requires horses to be vaccinated against influenza. The base series (started from 1 April 2024) consists of 3 vaccinations. The annual booster must be given within 365 days of the previous vaccination. Horses may not compete in KNHS events within 7 days of a vaccination.

What are the vaccination rules for trotters (Dravers NL)?

Dravers NL uses stricter intervals: the 2nd base vaccination must be given within 60 days of the 1st, and the booster within 180 days of the 2nd. Follow-up is required every 6–12 months. In addition to influenza, EHV (Rhinopneumonie) vaccination is mandatory for trotters.
